Insufficient light can easily cause plant malnutrition and reduce growth and flowering. The light saturation point of tomatoes is 70,000 lux, the light compensation point is 30,000 to 35,000 lux, and the general light intensity at noon in summer is 90,000 to 100,000 lux.
The black sunshade net has a high sunshade rate, up to 70%. If a black sunshade net is used, the light intensity cannot meet the normal growth needs of tomatoes, which may easily lead to vigorous growth of tomatoes and insufficient accumulation of photosynthetic products. Most silver-gray sunshade nets have a shading rate of 40% to 45% and a light transmittance of 40,000 to 50,000 lux, which can meet the normal growth needs of tomatoes. Therefore, it is best to cover tomatoes with a silver-gray sunshade, which is also a good Light-scattering Net.

Currently, there are two types of materials for making sunshade nets on the market. One is made of high-density polyethylene produced by petrochemical enterprises, added with color masterbatch and anti-aging masterbatch, and drawn and woven; the other is made of recycled old sunshade nets or plastic products that have been reprocessed. It is understood that sunshade nets produced from recycled materials not only have a low finish, hard feel, and pungent smell, but also have a short service life, with most of them only being usable for one year. Moreover, the high-density polyethylene sunshade net is anti-aging, strong and durable, and its service life can reach 3-5 years.
