Scientifically and rationally selecting shade nets

Covering the shading net is an important measure for the production of vegetables in greenhouses during the high temperature season. However, if an unsuitable Shade Net is used, it will not only result in leggy plants, but it will also adversely affect flowering and fruit setting. Therefore, we must choose shade nets scientifically and rationally.

Do not judge the quality of shade nets by color: The shade nets currently on the market are mainly black and silver grey. Black shading nets have a high shading rate and rapid cooling, and should be used for short-term coverage in areas requiring strict management in summer. Silver shading nets have a low shading rate and are suitable for hi-light vegetables and long-term coverage. The quality of shade nets is not determined by the color. The shade net color is added to the raw material manufacturing process. Therefore, different vegetables should choose different shade nets. For example, tomatoes are hi-light crops. If they meet the sunshine duration of 11 to 13 hours, the plants will grow robust and flower earlier. Although the effect of light time on tomatoes is less important, light intensity is directly related to yield and quality. Insufficient illumination can easily lead to malnutrition, leggy growth, and reduced flowering. The light saturation point of the tomato is 70,000 luxes, and the light compensation point is 30,000-3.5 million luxes. Generally, the light intensity at noon in summer is 90,000-100,000 lux. The black shading net has a high shading rate of up to 70%. Using a black shading net, the light intensity does not meet the normal growth requirements of the tomato, and it is easy to cause tomato growth and photosynthetic product accumulation. Most of the silver-gray shading nets have a shading rate of 40% to 45% and light transmittance of 40,000 to 50,000 lux, which can meet the normal growth requirements of tomatoes. Therefore, it is best to cover the silver-gray shade net.

To distinguish between the shade nets made of the material: There are two types of shading nets that are currently sold on the market. One is a high-density polyethylene produced by a petrochemical company, and the other is a recycled shading net or Plastic products are reprocessed. It is understood that shading nets produced from recycled materials not only have a low finish, they are hard to handle, they have more pungent odors, and they have a short service life. Most of them can only be used for one year. And high-density polyethylene shade nets are anti-aging, durable, and their service life can reach 4 years.

Buying shade nets by weight is even more careful: There are two ways to sell shade nets on the market today: one is by area, and the other is by weight. When choosing a vegetable farmer, do not rely on a single way to purchase it. You should carefully compare and look at the material to see the density, so as to prevent unscrupulous dealers from selling inferior [weight-for-weight" shade nets.
